| September 16 has been designated as the official National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of Hurricane Katrina. This day was declared as a national remembrance day by President G.W.Bush in 2005 after the devastation of Katrina. Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath resulted in a considerable loss of life, so on this day take a moment to reflect on all those who contributed to the relief effort.
