See the Injury Before It ComesEye Injury Prevention Month |
| Eye Injury Prevention is recognized every July to encourage people to properly protect their eyes in every environment, but particularly the workplace. More than 2,000 eye injuries occur each day, and about 1,000 of those injuries occur in the American workplaces alone. Despite the frequency of these injuries, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has found that almost 70% of the eye injuries studied occur from falling or flying objects, or sparks striking one's eyes.

The BLS estimates that over 90% of eye injuries are preventable with the use of proper safety eyeware, and the Occupational Safety Health Administration, OSHA, has standards that require employers to provide their workers with the appropriate eye protection. You can help provide workers with immediate solutions with custom imprinted safety whistles. To reduce the occurences of on-site eye injuries in the long run, you can also give away workplace safety education products to instill a lasting message of workplace safety. Other ways of reducing the occurence of eye injuries and reinforcing the importance of workplace safety are workplace safety awards and recognition products specifically tailored for eye safety.
While the focus of Eye Injury Prevention Month is on the workplace, it also calls attention to the need for early detection and treatment of eye conditions and diseases. Items like imprinted sunglasses and glasses holders are fun ways to remind employees to take a proactive approach to sustaining healthy vision in any setting. Any of these great promotional gifts will show that you care about the well-being of your employees.
