"B" Careful International Group B Strep Awareness Month |
| Group B streptococcus (GBS) causes illness in newborn babies, pregnant women, the elderly, and adults with chronic illnesses. Approximately 1 in 4 pregnant women carry GBS, which is also the most common cause of life-threatening infections in newborns according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). GBS can infect babies during pregnancy and the first few months of life.

Group B Strep Interational (GBSI) annually sponsors International Group B Strep Awareness Month to promote GBS awareness and prevention. A simple test between the 35th and 37th week of pregnancy can determine if one is carrying the bacteria and if extra precautions need to be taken to prevent the spread of this bacteria.
You can help promote GBS awareness and prevention during this month with custom bumper stickers to improve your brand awareness and associate your company with a good cause. Embroidered baby and toddler apparel can also send a strong message about the need to raise awareness about GBS. This month can be vital to future parents, and it will show that you care about them outside of the office also.
