| After all the shopping, present-wrapping, decorating, family-visiting, and tons of other holiday chores, it's time for another one. Choosing a summer camp. December is National Sign Up for Summer Camp month. Each year, parents are becoming increasingly interested in summer camps for their children. About 6.2 million kids went to camp last summer, both day and overnight. Five years ago, only fewer than 5 million were sent to camp. Reasons as to the increase are that working parents need child care when the school year comes to an end, and as technology gets more enhanced, children are less interested in going outside to play. Instead, they can opt to stay in and play outdoor sports on their new Nintendo Wiis they got for Christmas.
