Babies 'R in Danger Prematurity Awareness Month |
|
 |
| Raise awareness for infants that will never get a chance to see our world. The March of Dimes has named November Prematurity Awareness Month. Premature birth is the number one killer of American newborns. Between 1981 and 2003, the rate of premature births rose from 9.4% to 12.3%, that's a 31% increase! Every year, nearly 500,000 babies are born prematurely. Premature babies who survive usually suffer long-term consequences, such as; chronic health conditions or developmental disabilities.
