Did you know that 2/3 of blindess and visual impairment occur in women? Did you also know that over 70% of legally blind people are women? That's why women organized national Women's Eye Health and Safety Month to promote the value of healthy eyesight. Since women, on average, live longer than men, they bear more of a burden on the healthcare system and need special care. Treatment and even prevention are readily available, so it is imperative to remain educated and examined by your doctor. Many causes of eyesight problems are preventable. These risk factors include smoking, poor diet, lack of excersise, UV rays and obesity. Honor this awareness month, by using promotional pedometers or promotional sports water bottles to encourage women to exercise. Your organization can also promote sun safety with custom sunglasses and custom visors that shield your eyes from harmful and dangerous UV rays. However, it has been observed that women are biologically more likely to develop eye problems. In that case, you can give out promotional awards to role models or pioneers in the eye research field.
