National Geography Awareness Week

Established in 1987 by the National Geographic Society’s Geographic Education Program, National Geography Awareness Week (GeoWeek) strives to educate the public about the significance of place. Each third week in November, more than 100,000 Americans take part in some knowledgeable act of in GeoWeek.

In a world that is becoming increasingly globalized, it is imperative to know where countries and landmarks are located in order to better understand our world and the politics that govern it.  This event helps the future of American businesses be more welcoming and diversified about growing a company globally.   Since most Americans are not as geographically literate as we should be, promoting National Geography Awareness Week will help us to be better citizens of the world!
