Challenge: How to increase both golf club membership and use of the club’s dining facilities. A golf club in central Florida was looking for a way to elongate their membership list. The club knew that if their members only purchased the golf package, the likelihood of the golfers using the dining room was low. Therefore, the club decided to reward the members who signed up for the golf and dinner package versus only the golf package. The dinner and golf package was more costly than the normal membership, but the golf and dinner package was a draw to potential members and current members with families. Solution: Use a crystal golf award among other promotional products to thank members for their business. The club chose a crystal golf ball to thank members who purchased the golf and dinner package. Members also received promotional items like a golf towel, a shoe bag, tees, and markers after the first quarter of participation. Result:Both membership and use of the dining room increase. New and current members appreciated receiving the recognition gifts on behalf of their memberships and participation. Due to the recognition program, golf memberships increased 20 percent, and the use of the dining facilities increased each month. |
