Challenge: A health insurance organization wanted to show appreciation for their sales reps in a unique way
The company was hoping to generate positive reinforcement with their employees, and had a history of sending out quirky items with the promotion theme of, ‘guess the product.’ They wanted to continue this trend, but needed a new product to do it with.
Solution: Two different items were sent out to the reps as prize incentives
The HMO decided to run a contest to see who could come closest to guessing their mystery products. They first sent out a Neoprene Lip Balm Sleeves with a note attached saying, “What am I?”. After it was revealed that the sleeve was used to hold lip balm, they then sent out a special, “Guess the Flavor” lip balm. Each sales rep who guessed correctly received a movie gift certificate.
Result: The work performance and overall attitude of the sales reps improved
The campaign was successful for many reasons. It let the organization’s employees know that they cared about them, which in turn built company morale. Also, because it was a fun contest, it allowed the reps to take a break from their busy days and relax for a bit. When they got back to work, they were calmer and more productive.
