Challenge: How to increase membership and create awareness of world-class facilities.
A golf country club wanted to increase the number of golf memberships as well as promote awareness for their state of the art championship golf course.
Solution: A mail campaign, followed by the use of promotional products was chosen as a reward to both new members and potential new members.
The golf country club targeted potential members that lived within a 15-mile radius of the golf club. Each resident received a brochure about the golf country club as well as a metal ball marker with the golf club logo on it. The brochure included an invitation to an information session about the golf club, and a complimentary round of golf. Several people attended the information session, and the first 50 people that joined the golf club received a crystal golf award as an appreciation gift.
Result: The promotion is a success, reaching beyond the 15-mile radius of people originally targeted.
The response from the targeted residents was tremendous. Within four weeks more than 50 new members had joined the golf country club. The new golf members were so excited about joining the golf club that they invited their friends and family as guests.
