Chocolate Giveaway Scores with Golfers
Challenge: To announce the grand opening of the ninth hole at a public golf facility.
Bunker Hill Golf Course, a public golf facility, sought to commemorate the new ninth hole addition to its community golf course. The grand opening needed to recognize the loyal base of current golfers and encourage new golfers to come out in full swing to play.
Solution: Design a chocolate golf ball keepsake for the golfers.
Promotions specialists devised an innovative giveaway to celebrate the grand opening of the ninth hole: the Aria Apothecary special edition with chocolates shaped as miniature golf balls. On one side, the golf facility opted to screen print the 5-color logo. On the other, management strategically placed a one color imprint of the phone number to find out the schedule for tee times. For additional value, the apothecary was bundled in a polybag containing a 25 percent off coupon for a dozen golf balls. The chocolate gift would be given to the first 1,000 golfers as they signed in at the pro shop.
Result: The Aria Apothecary was a surefire hit with golfers!
The classic apothecaries were well-received as memorabilia to honor the day. The complimentary gift increased play at the course as well as increased sales at the pro shop, giving the public course a positive return on investment. The promotion measured up to success in the increased number of new golfers who became frequent players at the course.
