| Challenge: Lagging vending machine sales A soft drink maker wanted to boost sluggish sales in vending machines and increase awareness of company brands. The company wanted something that would bring back customers, but not be overly expensive. Solution: A creative marketing campaign to excite customers The company decided that to excite its customer base it needed something new. Their solution was to place decals on the upper left hand corner of vending machines that alerted customers to their chance to win a free pre-paid telephone card when they purchased a drink. 15 minute pre-paid phone cards were placed on certain number of cans, and customers had no way of predicting when they would win. Result: A strong increase in sales! Soft drink sales at the vending machines increased by roughly 15 percent per machine. The company was happy with the results, and now they have even more creative marketing plans in the works. |
