No matter what market a business may be in, there is no doubt a trade show that caters to it. However, the best trade shows are the ones that draw the most attendees, and the highest quality prospects from the relevant market. The unfortunate reality is that the competition at these events is also the highest, as companies work hard to try and secure qualified leads. It’s important to position a company in such a way to be memorable during the show and then after, as the attendees head home and back to their daily business life. One such way is to offer promotional trade show products that can be handed out either to attendees passing the booth or to visitors just before they move on to their next destination.
One of the promotional methods that carries a lot of impact is to offer something practical that attendees can actually use, and ideally, it would be something like promotional badge holders that they can use right at the conference. This way, it prevents the potential client from simply tossing the gift away to be sorted or discarded later, probably before they ever even board the plane for home. By giving them something that they can enhance their show experience immediately, the marketing is effective and lasting. Logo lanyards with badge holders are valuable to every single attendee, because even if the conference or trade show has provided some type of custom lanyards already, they usually are plain and nondescript, and because they are handed out ‘en masse’, they may fall apart within a few hours, which frustrates attendees.
The purpose of this type of promotion is to not only rise above the rest of the competition and create brand awareness, but also to create familiarity with potential clients and customers. By giving them something that actually can be used, it can send a message that the entire company offers services and products that are equally strong and creating impact in their business. A small gesture can go a long way, and people will recognize that. Even more importantly, the gift will not end up in the rubbish bin at the end of the day, since the attendee is using it as part of their equipment for attending the trade show. This means that even if they never stop by the company’s booth again, they will be reminded of the product.
