LexisNexis wanted to find a way to connect with first-year law students remotely while campuses remained closed to outside events due to coronavirus restrictions.
The LexisNexis Law School Marketing team needed promotional merchandise for their sales team. The team was to hand out promotional products for this case study to engage first-year law students across 49 of the 50 states. Their purpose? To encourage first-year law students to utilize LexisNexis’s online tools and legal technology.
Through months of discussion and planning with LexisNexis, ePromos determined the importance of registration among first-year law students. Registration was necessary to utilize technology and online tools.
We proposed offering mailable crates containing gifts law students may find helpful in their studies. To receive the complimentary crate, students were prompted to visit an ePromos online store as part of the registration process with LexisNexis.
ePromos accomplished this using several services:
- Kitting, warehousing and fulfillment: We identified the most cost-efficient way to fulfill 20,000 crates on-demand using our warehouse.
- Strategic sourcing: We sourced the product to save costs for the client.
- Creative services: Creative services played an essential role in store images and design, product mock-ups, and design creation.
- Technology: We created a landing page to manage inventory and provide sophisticated reporting.
Crate contents included:
- Set of five highlighters – 20,000 units or 100,000 total highlighters (20K Sets / 100,000 Total Highlighters)
- ePromos Direct Blue Light Blocking Glasses – 20,000 units
- Webcam Cover with Backer Card – 20,000 units
- Custom Overseas 25-ounce Stainless Water Bottle – 20,000 units
- Custom Branded Box – 20,000 units
LexisNexis’ partnership with ePromos helped close the distance learning gap. With promotional merchandise and a forward-thinking marketing strategy, LexisNexis increased brand awareness while promoting enthusiasm among first-year law students. In addition, unboxing videos and social media exposure of ePromos’ products created demand among second-year law students who didn’t receive them.
In less than four weeks, the live site generated more than 7,100 crate orders. The ePromos Tennessee warehouse has almost 13,000 more crates in storage ready to ship out as schools reopen. By mid-October, ePromos shipped out all 20,000 crates.
This partnership, in turn, should create more business for LexisNexis. Law students’ desire for crate supplies inspires them to familiarize themselves with the online tools and technology available and continue using them.
