| The first week in December observes a condition known as aplastic anemia, when the aplastic anemia & MDS International Foundation promotes awareness and aid for those who suffer with this disease. People with aplastic anemia have red blood cells that lack the normal amount of necessary hemoglobin, which leaves them fatigued and ultimately can lead to greater complications. Luckily, both the mild and severe cases of aplastic anemia are treatable, but spreading the word and raising donations for research and marrow transplant are still necessary.
