ePromos helped Blowfish Shoes develop just such an alluring gift-with-purchase promotion for Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) last week. The event, now in its fourth year, is a fun global initiative that was created to celebrate fashion, boost the economy and make it exciting to shop. Retailers in over 500 cities participated, making this year’s FNO bigger than ever.
“We wanted to send some sort of fun gift with purchase, and our customer is typically a young female,” says Whitney Cosgrave of Blowfish Shoes. “Lip balm and a tote bag seemed like the perfect gift for our market.”
The promotion was simple: The first 100 customers to go online and order some new shoes received the promotional gifts.
What a smart marketing move to limit the number of gifts. It created an urgency in shoppers to add those peep-toe pumps to their shopping cart and check out. It also gives an exclusive feel to the custom tote bag and lip balm—only 100 people get them.
Cosgrave was delighted with the promotion and credits our promotions specialist, Ron Denny, saying he was “very responsive and helpful. He would call if he had not heard back from me right away, and he also helped us get our items right on time.”
