British American Tobacco New Zealand, also known as Batnz, holds a sheep’s share of the New Zealand tobacco industry, with greater than 77% market share. The firm prizes individuality and creativity, promising future Batnz employees that “there is no stereotype to conform to.” Batnz seeks people who are different; people who can use their differences to generate new and fresh ideas.
The company means what it says: when the Batnz team connected with seasoned Promotions Specialist Brent Mittleman for help in selecting a promotional product for an upcoming corporate event, they said they wanted a product few people had seen … something new … something fun … something with maximum “wow” that would encourage creativity and new thinking and ideas.
Solution: Unique rubber-jelly “Dart Man” helps employees dream up ideas that “stick”
Brent and the Batnz team soon found their promotion: Dart Man—a promotional product designed to “stick around” with a rubber-jelly, residue-free tip that adheres to virtually any surface and, unlike suction-cup darts, comes off effortlessly. The item was one New Zealanders might not have seen before, and a break from the stereotypical promotional product presented at corporate functions. Brent also worked closely with our supplier to ensure the products cleared customs and arrived at Batnz’ New Zealand offices with time to spare.
Result: Dart Man seen sticking to ceilings; leaves Batnz employees wanting more
The Batnz team reports event (and Dart Men!) success—and that employees still have fun with the logoed product, tossing them around and sticking them to unsuspecting ceilings. The real proof of success, however, is that Batnz plans to reorder a fresh supply of Dart Man soon.
